Good afternoon and I hope you have all had a good week. Can you all believe it is February!! The weather has yet again been a little mixed but at least the course has dried up a little with all the strong winds. I did see this picture at the end of last week though which I thought was great. Not long before we shall all be enjoying some warm sunshine hopefully.
Are any of you after a new putter? At the moment we have offers on the Odyssey putters we have in stock. Some reduced by up to £80. Why not treat yourself before the season starts. I bet a lot of you are using putters that are many years old. Technology in putters has improved so much and I'm sure you would hole more putts. Funny how it is the club you will use the most but most spend less money on a putter than a driver. A change of putter often makes a huge difference to your scores.
Are any of you heading off for some winter sunshine? We still have some great offers on gents and ladies clothing. Gents shorts are the star of the show this week.
Quick update as it is a month since I hit the gym. I am now 9 pounds lighter and starting to feel quite a bit fitter. It is hard though as trying to keep my heart rate below 120 whilst working out is not easy. I am still trying to get to the gym twice a day during the week and it is nice to see so many members there also. I must say I find the early morning session much easier than the evening one!! At least I am sticking to it though. I have a long way to go to reach my target but if I can keep on losing weight at roughly 2lbs per week that is fine with me.
Today see's the resumption of the Gents Hull and District Association Winter Alliance after the winter break. Today's event is at Hainsworth Park. Let's hope we have a good score and keep up the pressure on Hull. I shall do a full report for you next week.
Can all golfers please take notice of the sign that has been put up on the 18th tee. It is important that any damage caused by a golf ball is now reported to the bar or pro shop.
STRANGE PLACE TO HIT IT AT HORNSEA
Last week I asked you all if you knew were the photo was taken. Well it was the left of the 13th, just left of the pond. Not the best place to be!! I didn't get one reply!! Well I have another picture for you this week and this one is a little easier and was sent to me by Stuart Naylor. It is Graham Winship playing his 2nd shot (above) but which hole is it? It is at Hornsea.

PITCH MARKS
I do find it interesting when I mention pitch marks. Everyone comes and tells me they repair at least 2 per green and often more. What I don't understand is that there are still loads of pitch marks that are not repaired!! Some people can't be doing them… Remember it is your course so please look after it.

GREENS
At last some dry weather so work on the lining, edging and re turfing of the bunkers has been possible. I'm sure all of you that have seen them must agree they are looking good. Quite a bit of time this week has been spent clearing up debris every morning due to the strong winds we have been having.
CLUBHOUSE FUNCTIONS
We are still waiting on more information regarding the Indian night.
