Good afternoon.
Well I am back from a few days away with my family and what a great time we had too. We didn't travel far, just across to Liverpool were both Yvonne and Natasha enjoy the shopping and this allows Nathan and I time for a game of golf. This year we played at Hillside. What a course it is too. I had played it before roughly 20 years ago but I really couldn't remember it. We both played some good golf on what was a red hot day but in the end I'm sad to say that Nathan beat me. Here is a selection of pictures from the course for you.
We have had a bit of a move around in the shop this week whilst it has been quiet due to greens maintenance so I'm sure you will all notice a difference. I must say it does look good. We have had a delivery of gents Hornsea Golf Club logo tops and the start of the latest gents and ladies clothing this week along with some new cart bags. It is also that time of year when the dare I say it winter stock starts arriving so please pop in and take a look.
FILEY EXCHANGE
It is great to see so many names down for this trip and please see below the start times for everyone. Those highlighted have said they wish to go on the bus. Can everyone pay as soon as possible please. There is room for 4 more players but you must now book as a 4 and would be out last.
Please click here for the draw.
Now after the draw was published I have had 3 people drop out. The draw has been slightly changed and I have managed to fill 2 of the places but am still looking for one person to make up with Steve Hawkins at 10.19. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to go. Can I also say if anyone else drops out you will have to find a replacement as I have no reserves.
HULL MAIL
There was a great write up in the Hull Mail yesterday about Alfie Anderson.
Here is the article and I shall let you all know how he did next week.

KNOCKOUT MATCHES
We are now just waiting for 2 games to be completed and then we shall know all the finalists for this years finals. I am currently trying to contact all the finalists we have so far to see who is available for the finals day and then sort out the times of each match.
COURSE WILDLIFE
Now this is what I like to have sent to me for everyone to see. A little bit of wildlife. Firstly we have 3 baby swallows on the railing near the 7th tee. This was sent to me by Paul Lockwood and shows the baby birds waiting to be fed by their parents which kept bringing them food.
Now the second is a video which is of an adder going across the 15th fairway.
This was sent to me by Matthew Boyes.
He is obviously is of scared of snakes as me so can I apologise for his language!
Again most of this is old news with missing last week but this is what has been going on.
Wednesday 10th August was the Seniors Captains Cup. It was won by Paul Lockwood with a score of 38pts which beat Phil Hargreaves on the last 9.
The Seniors also had a game with the Ladies on Friday 12th August with a great turn out, all played from the Silver Tees. This made scoring interesting with virtually all pairs scoring in the 40's. With a fantastic score though of 47pts were Debbie Goddard Taylor and Jeremy Hall.
Runners up were Dianne Cross and Jonty Hall with 45pts. There is a leek in the picture!! Can anyone tell me more?
The Seniors have also had an away day to Forest Park. The day was a great success for Alistair Pearson who won the trophy with a great score of 40pts. The runner up was Ron Wainman with 38.

| One of the reasons we like Callaway's clothing is the technology involved that makes its garments so effective in hot conditions - be it Opti-Vent or Opti-Cool. Have a browse when you're next in, especially if you've got a lot of golf planned over what we hope will be a sunny back end of the summer. | | |
