Captains Journal - February

Hello everyone, is it really March, the year seems to be flying past! Nothing much happened on the social side in the last month, I did however attend an ERUGC meeting where all things ERUGC / Yorkshire Golf and England Golf were discussed, including the rule changes which still seem to have a lot pf people in disagreement! 

We are now four matches into the Captains challenge, played four, won two and lost two! All matches have been extremely close and very funny they have all come down to the last two holes. There are still dates up in the changing room if you fancy taking us on, so get your name down if you fancy a challenge!

Since I have become Captain, I have spoken to around 23 new members, some returning and some new. I have seen a lot in the bar on a Saturday and Sunday having a pint and a good laugh, its brilliant to see and once again have a great season and enjoy the golf.

I have played a couple of other golf courses over the last couple of weeks, and, although they are in good condition for this time of the year, I must say they don’t have a patch on Hornsea, the amount of positive comments I have heard are fantastic.

One of my very good friends who plays at another local course said “it’s a real treat to play Hornsea” I certainly don’t disagree with him!

I noticed that the Hornsea Twitter Account has a following of 2’055 people, do you know it takes 10 seconds to retweet something, I know Stret, Gareth, Emma & Jonny are constantly tweeting to keep you updated on the course and activities that are happening, could I ask you to make an effort to retweet the information.

Tickets are selling nicely for the trip to the Algarve, If I am not around there are tickets behind the bar or in the pro shop
