Well it has arrived; the new amazing coffee machine. Now I'm not a big coffee drinker but trust me it's fantastic. All freshly ground and tastes great.
It can also do different types of drinks:
mochaccino
latte
cappuccino
chocolate latte
hot chocolate
espresso
de-caffeinated coffee.
Unfortunately the price has had to go up though and is now £1. Well worth it though for a much improved hot drink.
Pop in and give it a go before you play. The chaps below seem chuffed with it.

As members of Hornsea you are very lucky. I know the course was very wet, but on Saturday and Sunday did you know that Hornsea was one of the few courses that were open in East Yorkshire. I do try to keep members informed by posting a note on the top of the time sheet and putting it on the twitter feed on the Hornsea golf Club website. www.hornseagolfclub.co.uk It's at the bottom left of the front page. Always worth a quick look so you know what the state of the course is. Anyone using a ride on buggy please ring the shop at this time of year to check that they are able to go out please.
Some of you might have noticed the De Fib machine that has been put up against the wall of the clubhouse. This has been donated by friends of Hornsea Cottage Hospital funds and is a community access machine to be used by the local emergency responders.
You will start to see more of these positioned around Hornsea but we are the first to have one installed.
Good to see the sheet for the Christmas Shotgun Am Am is now full, and just 3 slots left for the New Year's Eve one left.
Have you all looked on the clubs website recently, www.hornseagolfclub.co.uk you will find a link to the members privilege page. Well worth a look as quite a few businesses are now advertising with special offers for Hornsea members.

East Riding Golfing Alliance
19th November saw our team travel to Malton. Two great scores they produced. A 6 under from Steve Uzzell and Sam Middleton was a great start but scoring one better was Andy Fox and Malcom Train. This gave them tied 3rd. Hornsea are now 5th in the Hull Daily Mail Championship. The next event was due to be played at Hessle on 3rd December but has been moved to Hainsworth Park due to the problems Hessle are having with their greens.
Hull Daily Mail Championship Bowl (leading positions after Malton & Norton Alliance). 1. Scarborough North Cliff 653, 2= Heworth & Hull 669, 4. Fulford 670, 5. Hornsea 672, 6. Filey 673, 7. Hessle 674, 8. Selby 676, 9. Malton & Norton 678, 10. Bridlington (Belvedere) 681, 11. Kirkbymoorside 683, 12. Ganton 686.
Captains Challenge
This week our game should have been against Peter Bridges and Ray Mckie. I think they must have heard what great form I'm in as they cried off on the day before!! A wise decision that was though as the weather wasn't very pleasant with rain falling all morning. Instead of golfing it gave me chance to catch up on some jobs at home. Unfortunately though I found myself glued to the TV, watching Henrik Stenson win in Dubai followed by Lewis Hamilton becoming World Champion in the Grand Prix. I was in bad books with Yvonne!!!
Lady Captains Drive In
Tuesday 25th saw our new Lady Captain, Wendy Lockwood, drive in. What a laugh it was too. Wendy dressed as a tiger and some of the ladies dressed as cheer leaders. Even the gents Vice Captain got dressed up too. A little worrying as it really suited him!!
Ride On Buggies
We are getting more and more members with their own ride on buggies. Can you all please take care where you are going. At times if it gets too wet, like last weekend, they might not be able to go out. Don't just turn up expecting to use them at this time of year. Please ring the shop to check if they are able to go.
Greens
Those that have played this week will have noticed that half of the greens have been quite heavily spiked. This is a deep aeration to a depth of 8/9 inches. The other half will be done when this half has started to recover. This is so the hole can be positioned on a decent surface to putt on.
The work on the 7th and 8th which was mentioned last week has been put back until the 1st of December due to the wet weather.
Whilst Fineturf are here working on the holes, the 7th, 8th, and 9th will be closed Monday to Friday.
Quite a few comments on the excellent work that was done around the 4th tee.
Bookings still available for Christmas lunches etc. Have you booked in for the Presentation Event buffet. Please book in the shop. Sunday 14th December. Starts at 4pm.
Other dates for your diary. Thursday 18th December will see the last quiz of the year. There will be a Christmas theme to this. A prize will also be presented to the person making the best attempt at wearing Christmas fancy dress. Although this will be optional!! Sunday 21st December is the Christmas draw and carols night. More details to follow.
