| | | Work update I had originally planned to have a long awaited week off this week but with issues needing immediate attention this has been put on hold. I will be working shorter days instead from my home office and taking the weekends to get out in the garden and hopefully taking a walk out on the course and down to the seafront. I think many of us, certainly as Hornsea residents would agree we are extremely lucky to be living in the area we do - something we have maybe taken for granted prior to this year. Tasks for this last week included; suspending services particularly for the clubhouse, such as Biffa collections, window cleaners etc.etc. for the month. Finalising the fixtures for 2021, the newsletter, make a start on the website updates and looking at amending and improving. Next week will be adding the fixtures to the various systems; booking system, club V1 and our in house diaries. This usually takes nearly the week with reminders for all events to various members. We have a packed calendar for 2021, some major events have transferred from 2020 and some additions. When you look at the year in a calendar format there's no wonder we are so busy at the club we are very lucky to have supportive members section competitions, opens and support from the wider golf community - a testament to our course and club. |

Our existing brands - Puma, Daily Sports and Rohnisch will continue and we will continue to look at new product to further enhance the shop. | Ladies Stocking Fillers
| For you all we are very excited to welcome Cobra as a new equipment stockist. With an excellent fitting service, including products for you left handers and for ladies we are looking forward to getting started. We had been considering for the last couple of years but with the new fitting studio we are now able to invest in this long term. All part of the investment that Wright Golf are making for the future of the shop, club and most importantly the members. We will continue to be a major stockist of Callaway and a meeting with Ping regarding equipment will hopefully be taking place in December. |

This weeks table shows the handicap allowances for different formats. Once you all get used to having your handicap index and using the tables at each club to give you your course handicap, you will then in competition format have a playing handicap to work out! In the main individual competitions will mean a 95% allowance, so like you used to apply a 3/4 or 90% allowance prior to 2nd November you will now apply 95%. Am Am's will all be 85%. The new score cards give the 3 columns you will need for each; handicap index, course handicap, strokes received. And don't forget if all else fails this is were the handicap software is a god send as we can rely on this for giving the final information we require. The winter season will give every chance to get used to it and by the spring when competitions elsewhere start you will all be using without thinking - optimistic as always! We are also still working through intitial handicap index releases, we are now awaiting another update through Club V1 to finalise these so please bear with us. |

Alliance Update
Due to lockdown 2.0 all alliances have now been stopped until January. In the Hull and District alliance last time out at Hessle we had 2 pairings in the prizes. In 6th position was Jonnie Fisher and Stu Hine with a score of 68. Improving on their score by 1 was the pairing of Jack Maxey and Malcolm Train which saw them place. In the league table this has left us in 3rd place, 1 shot behind Hessle and 8 behind Cottingham so lots of work to do on the resumption after Christmas. The last East Riding alliance before the break was played at Boothferry last Wednesday with both pairs scores to count. Rich Pace and Ian Lockwood scored a 70. This was followed by a 66 from Jack Maxey and Steve Uzzell which included a fantastic 8 birdies for Jack. This has put us in 2nd position in the league level with Ganton and 5 behind leaders Pike Hills. Let’s hope both alliances can continue on after Christmas and see us challenge for both titles. |
