For those who have played since the reopening last week and ventured onto the driving range, you may have noticed a couple of differences.

The new Coaching and Fitting Lab now has shutters and I am happy to say now fully usable, making it the most technologically advanced studio in the area, with technology that allows you to see what is going in the golf swing, even the things the eyes CANNOT see!

Technology does not need to make golf lessons complicated, in fact the opposite. The technology makes it easier to diagnose problems, and makes improvement more efficient!

For what the eyes CAN see, the lab has 3 High Speed Cameras running at upto 200fps enabling the club to be slowed down without any blur or shaft distortion.

And for what the eyes CANNOT see, a Flightscope X3 Launch Monitor which uses a combination of camera and Doppler radar to accurately measure what the ball does throughout its flight, and how the club and ball interact at impact.  I have been using Flightscope technology since 2010, and am excited by what the new X3 has to offer, providing accurate data on all things including chipping and putting,and is trusted by many Tour Professionals including US Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau.

The Swing Catalyst Balance Plate, which highlights what goes on between your feet and the ground during the golf swing is the latest addition to my coaching hardware.  It has not only confirmed my beliefs about what should happen during the golf swing, but also allowed me to find quicker ways to improve your game.

The Fitting wall currently holds Callaway products, but in 2021 we are adding more manufacturers to the matrix, including Cobra Golf, both of whom have some amazing products coming out next year.

I have recently added the Arccos Golf sensors to my personal bag, to allow me to understand more about my game.  I have been keeping in depth statistics for a fair few years now, but having attended a virtual ‘Coach Camp’ during November, and hearing about how Arccos are moving forward as a company, I invested in a set myself.  I am looking at ways to include these sensors as part of my lesson and fitting offering, to ensure the improvements we see in the studio are being replicated out on the golf course - watch this space!
