Can I just thank Paul Lockwood and Colin Evans who have both worked so hard for the Golf Club. They have both only ever wanted the best for the Club and members and between them have put hours of hard and dedicated work. I hope they will now enjoy their golf without us giving them information and members comments before they even reach the 1st tee. Please click here for Paul’s closing speech he read at the Members’ meeting last Thursday if you would like to see what he said. A new addition to the shop this week are Volvik Golf Balls. These are the brightly coloured balls made famous by Bubba Watson. They really are quite different and some great colours. Why not take a look next time you are in?
Temporary Local Rule There are a number of greens that are damaged after greens maintenance and these areas are to be classed as “Abnormal Ground Conditions”. RULE 25-1 Interference by an abnormal ground condition occurs when a ball lies in or touches the condition or when the condition interferes with the player’s stance or the area of his intended swing. If the player’s ball lies on the putting green, interference also occurs if an abnormal ground condition on the putting green intervenes on his line of putt. Otherwise, intervention on the line of play is not, of itself, interference under this Rule. If the ball lies on the putting green, the player must lift the ball and place it, without penalty, at the nearest point of relief that is not in a hazard or, if complete relief is impossible, at the nearest position to where it lay that affords maximum available relief from the condition, but not nearer the hole and not in a hazard. The nearest point of relief or maximum available relief may be off the putting green. |
