Another Win For #TeamHornsea Over the past few months, all sections of the club have done there bit by winning all sorts of events. Last weekend not to be outdone it was our young juniors that brought back to the club another trophy. Here is a report from Paul Gibson regarding another win: “Over the last five months, the Juniors have been taking part in the East Riding GolfSixes competition run by the Golf Foundation. The format is teams of six, playing six holes of golf playing Texas Scramble. It is aimed at entry-level golfers who lack the power to compete on a full course so each six-hole course is 1200 yards. This Sunday's fixture was the last of the year with Hornsea holding a three-point lead over our nearest challengers, Cottingham after some great performances early on in the year. Our team of Jacob Greenwood, Esme Brauer, Harrison Mead, Tristan Charlesworth, Harrison Greenwood and Josh Cook-Walton (average age of ten!) performed brilliantly to finish in second place for the fixture, but that meant that Hornsea won the overall competition. Along with the names mentioned above, winning the league has been a team effort with Lilly Anderson, Seth Topham, Oliver Myers, Aaron Williams and James Boyd contributing over the course of the season. This is the 2nd year in a row that Hornsea have won the GolfSixes and a lot of the Juniors are already talking about winning next year also!" |
