Well it's the time of year when all the new stock starts arriving. Please keep your eyes open every time you come in as for the next few months all sorts of things are due in. For those that have been waiting, the Super Stroke grips are now here. For those that struggle a little putting they really do help. Please ask next time you are in and we can show you or click here to get in touch now.
Another new addition to the service we offer at the shop at Hornsea is a loft and lie machine. I shall tell you more about this next week.
It's always nice when you think you might have done something to help. Only last week Nicky Salzl had her clubs re gripped. Last Friday whilst playing a match against Angela Clappison she only went and got a hole in one on the 12th. Her first one. Now I'm sure the new grips must have played a big part in this achievement. Well done Nicky.
Now I have herd of some crazy ideas before but 4 of our members later this year are about to attempt one!! How many of you would think you could still play 36 holes in a day? What about 54? I remember as a young junior doing it once. It was hard work and I never did it again!! Well Leigh Gawley, Joe Palmer, Dave Goundry and Chris Wilson on the 26th of June this year are going to play 100 holes, yes 100 in one day. They will be walking/jogging all 100 holes. They will be doing it for charity and when I have more information I shall let you all know. If any of you are able to help on the day can you please let myself or one of them know. This will be quite a challenge and lots of support will be required. I guess a few plasters too!! They are raising money for charity and each ones target is £1000. I'm sure sponsor forms will be around shortly or you can donate on the just giving website: www.justgiving.com/teams/Hornsea100

HULL & DISTRICT GOLFING ASSOCIATION
Another great performance from some of the Hornsea pairs at Hainsworth last week. 64 was the best score from a Hessle pair but Hornsea managed 2 65's. Andy Dickinson partnering Lee Nicholson and Sam Middleton with Chris Wilson. (CLICK HERE to view full Hainsworth scores) This leaves us still 3 clear in the Victor Hurdle with 3 events remaining. The next event is today at Hessle. The team for Hessle CLICK HERE.
EAST RIDING GOLF ALLIANCE
The East Riding Alliance that was due to be played last week but was cancelled due to frozen ground and was played yesterday at York. Our team did well again, A 65 from Steve Uzzell with Sam Middleton and a 67 from Ady Rosindale with Mark Cooke where good scores on the day. The 65 saw Steve and Sam get a small touch in the prizes but overall we didn't make up any ground though. The next event is at Beverley next Wednesday, CLICK HERE to view the team.
GREENS
It's been another busy week on the course of turfing work on the 8th, tree work on the 12th, with both areas coming on well and general tidying of other areas. Hopefully weather permitting the 8th should be finished by the time you all receive this. A tree that was split has also been removed on the 16th. Can we ask again that if you are able to carry please at this time of year do so. It is very noticeable with a few frosts that quite a few are still not going around the ropes. Please either carry or if you need a trolley go round the ropes.
CLUBHOUSE
Quiz nights are back. The next one is Thursday 26th February. It would be good if we could see a few more teams entering.
We still have some places left for the Annual Club Dinner Dance on Saturday 28th February. Please book behind the bar.
Date for your diaries. Mothers Day is on Sunday 15th March. Paul our chef is doing a carvery three course lunch for £7.95 per person. Again please book behind the bar if you would like a table.
