Friday 9th May was an exciting day for Hornsea Ladies A Team as we were hosting Hessle for our first home match.
We felt quite confident as Angela Clappison, Wendy Lockwood, Lucy Atkin, Lynn Bond and our lady President Sue Robinson were going to be a formidable team to beat.
The day started well as it was lovely to meet the Hessle team in a relaxed atmosphere over a bacon sandwich supplied by our competent catering staff.
Do ladies like shopping? - silly question!
The ladies from Hessle really liked the merchandise in the pro shop and were very complimentary about the styles and range of colours.
The weather was absolutely perfect and the course is in wonderful condition. No doubt to the envy of other clubs in the area.
It was tense waiting for the teams to arrive back to the clubhouse as it was turning out to be a competitive match. However I'm delighted to announce that our ladies performed up to expectations with a 3-2 win.

Ladies from Hornsea played Cottingham parks GC at home in the weekend league on Sunday 4th May.
Despite a strong cold northerly wind, making the back nine tricky the Hornsea ladies were victorious in winning 2-1.
We will look forward to playing Cottingham parks on their home course.
